"Premier Race Support," a phrase or opportunity considered possible perhaps by only professional teams, those competing at a high level or the average human who, has a super hero wife or husband!! Well, lets consider all of those options associated with the phrase, "premier race support," old news, history, out of date... until NOW!! Ok, the tag line has drawn you in, brought that level of caffeinated buzz to an attention to detail.
Want to learn more about how "you" can feel like a pro? Read on our fellow cycling, foodie, adventure based guru's... The Cyclist's Menu, which if you have not read the entirety of our website, is comprised of Head Coach, Heidi Rentz & Executive Chef, Zander Ault. Between the two of them, they hold 10 years of experience in the cycling industry; guides, chef's, sous chef's, adventurers, camp directors, fun provocateurs!! We love working outside, incredible foods and showing our guests that they can do it too, with us, in the best locations in the world! As we continue to build our year round cycling & multi sport camp tour dates, we couldn't help but think about how to offer our experience at the race's and events we love to attend. There are many and as the season continues, we will release the kick ass stories that come from those dates. However, April 26th-May 1st, 2016 are 6 days we will never forget. Why? Because we launched our "Premier Race Support" concept to the world, live from Prescott, Arizona. This year marked Heidi's 5th season attending The Epic Rides, Whiskey 50 Off-Road Mountain Bike Event. 3 days of community, super duper fun, lots of bikes, cold beers and 50 miles of incredible trail. What made this years Whiskey 50 event even better, is we had the opportunity to share in this explosion of culture, cycling and food with guests from Utah, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Virginia and Wisconsin. All came to Prescott to test their strength, all came to Prescott to experience our premier race support, as they competed and indulged in the Epic Rides, Whiskey 50 Off-Road. We arrived early to provide our guests an opportunity to experience Prescott, AZ, which is a very cool town. Did you know it was the Capitol of the Arizona Territory in the mid 1800's? At one time home to over 300 saloons! No wonder they call Main St, Whiskey Row. A couple of days to get acclimated, preview the course with Coach HR and get on the Chef Z meal plan, a highlight of the weekend! What unfolded over the course of the weekend was magical. Truly an experience for guests and staff alike. We teamed up with mad man, Jake Schuppe. Owner of Adventure Seekers LLC, Jake is PRO in everything he does. Bike mechanic, personality, living life, and driving trailers. Thank gosh for the last one, because Jake owns "Yukon" the trailer, which he pulls with "Lucy" the truck. A 44 foot, custom built home on wheels. Fully decked out with living quarters for 8, commercial kitchen, on board hot water heater with full bathroom, storage for 15 bikes and more amenities than your average hotel. This was our home for the Whiskey 50 and we will be operating out of "Yukon" with Jake for the 2016 season and into the future. Between 12 delicious meals, lots of trail riding, incredible moments together, a few cold beers and couple of bon fires, we left Prescott knowing we will be back year after year. The Whiskey 50 is an event everyone needs to attend, at least once. Stay tuned as we release our premier race support dates throughout the season. For now, know that you too can attend the Leadville 100, the Firebird 40, Go Pro Mountain Games and more, with our support and ride your butt off, hang with great people and nourish your mind, body and soul with Chef Z around the table. Yours Truly, The Cyclist's Menu
