Heidi Rentz
Co-founder, Director, Guide

Why do you ride your bike?
I used to ride my bike to see how fast I could go! These days... I enjoy feeling the wind on my face when I'm pushing the pedals to find those deeply hidden, extra confident, inner-childlike ideas. Ideas that could only pop into your mind when you're in the best of moods, with the best of intentions.

In your mind, what is the most special part of Gravel Camp?
I might be a little bias, but other than my family & friends, there's nothing more special to me then Gravel Camp. It's a place that simply allows everyone (myself included) to "let it all go." The time to get back to square 1. That place where we really ride bikes, enjoy the company of my new friends and learn from some of the most passionate people I've met in my life (my co-workers).

You’re a pretty special chica, who is that one person in your life who's encouraged you to think outside the box & truly become who you are are today?
Mom & Dad never punished me for doing things that... uhhh, made them scratch their heads, ha ha!! I believe this ultimately gave me the confidence to become exactly what I want to be and do exactly what I want to do. Over the past four years, my partner in crime, Z-man, has helped me take "thinking outside the box" to an entirely new level. He listens to me, values my ideas and together... we've found ourselves on a pretty darn magical journey. #ridebikeseatfood

If you could be 'professional' in something, what would it be?
I'd be a professional business person and own the most unique bike touring company in the world :)

What is your secret power during gravel camp?
I have this strange ability to convince people to do anything at gravel camp (he he he)! Whether it be riding 100 miles of dirt w/ 10,000 ft of climbing, drinking a delicious beer while enjoying a deep conversation, or simply having the time of your life.

What is your dream vacation?
Flying to Japan with my bike, Z-man and a few other pals. No agenda, other then riding our bikes as far as we want each day and eating spicy noodles.
