Why do you ride your bike?
I ride my bike for so many reasons-- long distance racing, getting around town, travel, fun, exercise, visiting friends, really any reason or excuse. I guess my favorite part is just spending all that time outside moving. I love seeing how far I can go. I feel like no matter the distance, no time on a bike is wasted.
In your mind, what is the most special part of Gravel Camp?
The most special part of Gravel Camp for me are the epic days. Everyone challenges themselves out there and there are so many different phases of the day-- you ride with people and ride alone with your thoughts. The terrain is constantly changing and days can feel like weeks. And then we do this day after day. Every day holds a different world.
You’re a pretty special chica, who is that one person in your life who's encouraged you to think outside the box & truly become who you are are today?
My parents have been incredibly supportive and never pressured me in any direction. They've always encouraged my wild ideas.
If you could be 'professional' in something, what would it be?
I've been working odd jobs for the past 12 years to save money to travel on my bike. In the past year, I've started receiving some financial support from bike companies. I'm beyond stoked to be a “professional” cyclist :)
What is your secret power during gravel camp?
My secret power is that I never get tired. I will always ride more, stay up later and get up earlier.
What is your dream vacation?
I want to ride in Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan and Georgia to name a few. I'm starting to get interested in riding the mountains in South America. I just want to ride my bike everywhere.
